FOX Weather continues to track Hurricane Tammy as it moves away from the Caribbean islands as a Category 1 storm. Meanwhile, chances of Invest 95L developing in the southwest Caribbean Sea are up to 60%.
Hurricane-force and heavy rainfall impacted the northeastern Caribbean islands over the weekend as Hurricane Tammy made landfall on the island of Barbuda late Saturday night. But Tammy is now pulling away from the islands as it heads northwest into the southwestern Atlantic Ocean, and it could track near Bermuda later this week.

Hurricane Tammy initially reached Category 1 intensity on Friday before bearing down on several of the northeastern on Saturday, which saw gusty winds, angry seas and tremendous rain as the heart of the storm moved by just miles to the east of many of those islands.

High winds continued into early Sunday morning before the late-season hurricane headed northwestward away from the islands.

As of late Sunday, Hurricane Tammy was centered about 120 miles north of Anguilla.
Maximum sustained winds are estimated at 85 mph. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said little change in strength is forecast during the next few days.
What is the forecast for Hurricane Tammy?
Tammy is moving northwestward at about 9 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue through Sunday. That means the center of Tammy will move farther away from the northeastern Caribbean islands throughout the day.
A turn toward the north is expected for Sunday night and Monday, followed by a north-northeast or northeast motion on Tuesday, the NHC said.
The forecast track for Tammy becomes quite uncertain by the middle and end of the workweek, but current indications are that it could track near Bermuda by Friday.

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue across the northeastern Caribbean as Tammy gradually pulls away from the region.
Depending on the exact tract of the hurricane, some islands could see up to a foot of total rainfall.

This system has been dubbed by the NHC, which is simply a naming convention that allows forecasters to run specialized computer models on systems they are monitoring for development.
Environmental conditions are favorable for development, and the NHC says a could form before the system moves inland over Nicaragua by early Tuesday. Regardless of development, this system will likely produce heavy rain over portions of Central America during the next couple of days.
