With only days left until the official end of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season, the National Hurricane Center is keeping its eyes on an area of disturbed weather in the Atlantic Ocean that has a medium chance of developing over the next seven days.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is watching an area for possible tropical development as the end of the nears.

an area of low pressure is developing along a frontal boundary over the central subtropical Atlantic Ocean on Thursday morning.

This system could become a or late this week or over the weekend as it loses its frontal characteristics and moves northeastward.

According to the NHC, the chances of subtropical or tropical development should end by early next week when the system moves over cooler waters.

Forecasters are giving the system a low chance of development over the next two days and a medium chance of developing over the next week.

If the storm earns a name, it will become Vince, the second-to-last name on the .
