Where is snow falling right now?
Heavy, wet snow is falling across parts of , northern , northern and northern on Monday morning. could exceed 1 inch per hour throughout the morning commute, particularly in portions of Maine.
The highest snowfall total so far is 8.7 inches near Greensboro, Vermont. Up to 7 inches of snow has been reported in Madison, New Hampshire, while Auburn, Maine, has measured 5 inches of snowfall.
According to , more than 18,000 people in the region were without power as of early Monday as the weight of the wet snow brought down tree branches and power lines in some areas. Maine had the highest number of power outages.

Where are winter weather alerts in effect?
Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are posted for most of Maine and New Hampshire, the northern Green Mountains in Vermont and portions of far northern New York.
The National Weather Service said the alerts are in effect through late Monday morning in many areas, except in Maine, where they’ll remain in effect until Monday evening.

Most areas under Winter Weather Advisories in coastal Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and far northern New York are expected to pick up anywhere from 2 to 6 inches of heavy, wet through Monday morning.
Between 5 and 10 inches of heavy, wet snow is predicted for the areas under Winter Storm Warnings in Maine and northern portions of New Hampshire, Vermont and New York. However, some of the higher elevations could see a foot or more of snow from this winter storm.

Additional power outages possible
The snow is heavy and wet, making it more difficult to shovel and adding increased stress to trees and power lines, creating a continued threat of scattered until the winter storm exits the region later Monday.
